Mixed Metals

I have remade my mixed metal bracelet by adding silvercopper and bronze balls to the bracelet tiles. I like it much better.

Post Earrings

I've been working on some new post earrings

rINGS

Well, I have been making rings and earrings the last 2 days with Kate's friend Becca. My favorites are 2 new solitare rings with a faceted moonstone and a mystic CZ.




I also made a cool mixed metal double banded ring and a set of stacking rins with a square cut blue chalcedony.












Becca finished her stacking rings which are a green crysophase and a pretty white opal




And here is my double banded ring with a blue zircon in between the 2 bands

Circle Cutter and Copper Turquoise hoops

Well I still haven't worked on my mixed metal clay but I received a backordered circle cutter in the mail. I had to give my new toy a try so I made a Bronze , Copper and Silver coin necklace on a sterling silver chain.

I also made some very cool copper hoops with turquoise stones. The hoops are hammered 2 different ways with sterling circles at the top and sterling ear wirees. I love the way they turned out. I may have to steal them for myself.

I also made a ring with my favorite stone (Topaz Blue Zircon) and a very pretty patterned silver wire.

Cold Connections

Well I didn't get to my mixed metal creations today, but I did work on some cold connections. Cold connections are alternate methods of joining together metals and other media in ways that don't require heat.

The last is my stamped copper bracelet which I joined to leather using sterling silver tubing. Next is a rock that drilled a hole through and the put a silver tube rivet through the hole. The third is more copper and bronze squares joined together in a new way so that the tiles lay flat. I also love the way the colors turned out.

Here is my new copper and bronze firefly bracelet and earring set. The colors acheived by heat patina are amazing especially on the copper. Kumoricon 2010

Well the 2010 Portland Anime Convention is over. Three Days of fun and selling at my vendor's booth. I met the nicest vendors and customers and although I am tired it was so fun. here are some of the new things I made for the Convention.

New Years Resolutions - Create a Blog

Epic failure so far - I decided this was the year I would make some life changing new years resolutions. I don't know why since I think New Years Resolutions are usually pretty useless. It is probably that I am 50 (don't tell anyone) and feel it is time to get my life back under control. My resolutions were:

~ Get my house under control
~ Specifically get my craft/sewing/jewelry room organized
~ Read Dr Laura's "care and feeding of husbands"
~ Get my jewelry business going so I can start to show my venture capitalist (husband) a return.
~ Exercise every day
~ work on/learn something new and creative every week
~ Start a Blog

So far I am not doing to well. The good news is I now have a blog!!! I have started to learn to crochet but I need to finish my beautiful victorian neck cuff http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=38642111. I am on Chapter 3 of the care and feeding of Husbands. My craft room, don't even ask!! My family has threatened to call "Clean Sweep" on me. I have an Etsy site http://www.etsy.com/shop/Peaceofshine. I am exercising 3 times a week.

I gave up on thinking about cleaning yesterday and created some beautiful necklaces and earrings. Maybe today the dreaded craft room.
